There is a wide variety of credit card processing equipment available for restaurants, and the equipment you choose will depend on your size and volume of business. Retriever's point of sale system experts at our locations in Orlando and Memphis can help figure out which type will work best for you.
For coffee shops or small volume restaurants
A desktop point of sale terminal is usually the best option for small volume restaurants. This includes a state-of-the-art EMV desktop terminal with an internal printer. It is PCI certified, includes online reporting, and allows you to accept multiple forms of payment.
For quick service and table service up to 20 tables
A Simple Point of Sale system - which includes an iPad stand, counter top receipt printer, Ethernet wire, cash drawer, and encrypted MSR with charging cable - is ideal for smaller restaurants. The Simple POS does everything a desktop terminal can do, plus extra options such as managing inventory, tracking employees clocking in or out, cloud-based access, CRM, loyalty and marketing tools, and the ability to customize specials & sales daily.
For high volume restaurants and bars with 20 or more tables
High volume restaurants and bars need a Full Functioning Point of Sale System, which includes software, an integrated card reader, a 3″ terminal printer, Windows POS operating system, a cash drawer with cable, a keyboard, and a 15′ touchscreen monitor. This performs all of the functions of the desktop terminal and Simple POS. But it also allows for shared orders across devices, shows floor plans and seating assignments, allows for split tickets, or to separate a kitchen and station order.
